Re: Micheyla's story

I read your story and had to respond. Our stories are so similar. It was my son at 23 months old when diagnosed with kd, and I too was 38 weeks pregnant with my 4th child. I knew something was very wrong with him at home after a couple days of high fever when it hurt him when I touched him. He could...

Re: Can it be KD if fever goes away on day 5?

Sounds suspicious for systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis or maybe kd (incomplete). Either way, would try to have appt. with pediatric rheumatologist asap. When my son had kd almost 2 years ago we saw one in the hospital and she was amazing. I agree technically the fever lasts longer than 5 days....

Re: Are there any pictures on the symptoms?

I have no information on pictures, but this is my experience. As far as the hands and feet, my sons were red and swollen with no bumps. the tongue you described fits with my sons. My pediatrician told me that any rash will do in kd. my son had no swollen lymph nodes, but all other symptoms and was t...

Re: I lost my 8 Yr. old daughter to KD

I am so incredibly saddened by your loss. Your daughter is beautiful. When my son was 23 mo. he was diagnosed with kd. He had the ivig twice, because his fevers returned within hours after the first ivig. Even after the 2nd round, he still had low grade fevers for weeks. He had residual arthritis so...

Re: 2 year old Jack/carpet and furniture cleaned 3 days prio

My son Noah was diagnosed with kd almost 3 years ago. He was almost 2, now almost 5 (so far so good!) I remember before he was diagnosed, I had a terrible cough. I really thought I had pneumonia. Noah seemed to get what I had and he came down with a nasty cough for a few days, then he developed a fe...

Re: KD and inflamed rectal mucosa?

My son was diagnosed with kd almost 3 years ago. He was 23 months old and still in diapers. I remember his rectal area was very red and peeling. I also remember this didn't last long, maybe one day while he was in the hospital. It was after he was sent home, a week or more later, that his fingers st...
