Re: New to KD---son diagnosed and treated but still scared of relapse

Sorry to hear about your son and KD. I hope by the time you see this post your worries have been allayed. My son had KD when he was 10 and I understand the fear of taking him places where he could catch something. If he received the IVIG, he has received a good dose of antibodies which should help.

Re: Leo's KD story. Atypical KD

I hope Leo is doing well. Here's a link to KD research-- The team is studying the genes of patients with Kawasaki disease and their biologic parents to see how children are genetically predisposed to developing the disease. To learn more about this study and how to participate, email kdgenetics@ucsd...

I'm surprised they didn't give her a 2nd IVIG. How is she currently doing?

Re: Gracie's Story 9 years old with heart complications

Sorry to hear that Gracie wasn't diagnosed sooner. My son's diagnosis came 6 weeks after he got sick and as a result has super gigantic aneurysms. How is Gracie doing now?

Totally agree! I would not add a supplement without consulting his cardiologist first!

Re: 36 years after KD and 3 years after CABG

Just wondering how your husband is doing these days. My son had KD when he was 10--he's now 13. He has gigantic coronary aneurysms (9mm-26mm). His LAD is 100% blocked but he also has some smaller capillaries(?) that his body created in response and as of yet has not heart damage. I am looking into w...

Re: KD and Soy

I don't know much about the association of soy and KD but if I were to consume soy it would be non-GMO soy, as well as consumed in moderation--

Re: Is KD ongoing without treatment?

Did she ever have an echocardiogram (very non-invasive)? I don't know if KD can be ongoing but the effects to her coronaries could be very serious if she indeed has had or has KD.

Re: Chest pain

My 10 yo son was recently diagnosed with KD. He has several giant anyeurisms. He is on blood thinners, a beta blocker and they are talking about a catherization later in the year to check his heart. What did they do for you daughter's very large corornaries? Are she actively taking any medication now?
