well, this is disturbing.

I am not sure how I feel about saying rare complications when discussing a disease that is suppose to be rare to begin with?

It is like a double negative, isn't it?

good luck getting your insurance to agree to checking into that..Especially where the incidence of this complication is so low! :(

This is EXTREMELY disturbing to me....my 13 year old was diagnosed in january ONLY because I refused to accept the fact that he had a virus. The infectious disease physician tried to convince me of that, but I knew in my gut something was not right. My child was healthy, completely normal, and out of nowhere he developed the fever, the rash, the tongue, etc. He tried to discharge him after 5 days in the hospital (fever still high at that point, and this was fever day 8), and after sitting in the hospital day and night and googling, researching, I asked him to do an EKG before he decided to discharge. He came back the next morning and said his gall bladder and spleen were enlarged and sed rate and c-reactive protein came back increased. Thank God he ordered IVIg. His EKG's so far are still normal, we have another one in two weeks.
