I am a former patient with Kawasaki disease (KD), current university student, and I also currently research KD and publish medical articles on the subject. I have a few papers that have been published on KD, in addition to several pending publications that are either in print or in peer-review.
I was wanting to ask the members of this board if you had any patient pictures that I could use for my own presentations or publications.
This would be for educational purposes that are not for profit, including my own, so that I can help increase awareness of the clinical presentation of KD. Unfortunately as I am sure many of you known from first-hand experience in dealing with doctors in the West, KD still remains fairly unrecognized and is often missed.
I cannot compensate anyone for their use, as I am a very poor university student myself and am currently in quickly accumulating debt from school. Thankfully, I have colleagues and coauthors so I can publish my medical research, as it costs upwards of $3000 to publish a paper in free open-access for everyone to view!
You would simply need to fax me a signed paper stating that you give me permission to use and reproduce this material for educational purposes that are not for profit.
In particular, I am looking for high-quality pictures that capture the red eyes, red lips (and possibly cheeks), widespread red rash, and red hands and feet captured all in one picture. The following picture is a good example of what I am looking for, although individual pictures of symptoms would also be very useful and greatly appreciated.

Also, below is a picture of me as a child with KD when I was about 18 months old.
This was taken around 1989 in Berlin, Germany.
I also had a recurrence of the disease shortly following my 3rd birthday after my mother and I had moved to Seattle, Washington in the United States.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen aus Kansas,
With best regards from Kansas,
