Hi. My son is almost 2 and he got diagnosed with kd in February. He had 2 IVIG treatments and got put on steroids twice since then. He was fine for about 3 weeks after he was of the steroids and just last Tuesday he started running a high fever around the clock. 105F and he was on motrin and Tylenol around the clock. I called the cardiologist and his pcp and finally on Friday I brought him to the er at umass and they kept him until Sunday. They did all kinds of tests and everything. We now have consuls with the cardiologist and the rheumatologist to make sure it is not kd again or some joint disease or anything else for that matter. His artery is bigger than before and we are monitoring it so it doesn't get any bigger. I'm very scared because I just had a baby and I don't want to go through it again with my son and having to leave the baby somewhere else. It's awful. I hope it is just a vital thing this second time around!

I'm sorry hunny. He was diagnosed in February? My daughter is 2 too. She was just diagnosed about 2 and a half weeks ago, a little longer, and it has been the worst nightmare of my life. The doctors here couldn't diagnose her, I did all the research and helped get her diagnosed after we were transferred to the Children's hospital, and we were almost out of time. We just barely got home, I have an 8 year old son too. I'm scared all the time too. Did your son's fever go down? Is he getting better? I found this website looking for answers, and still have none. I think that's the worst part... a diagnosis a prediction, an outcome that's manageable. But the fear of not knowing... I'm Danielle BTW
