Hi Everyone,

Our 11 month old son was diagnosed with KD several weeks ago and is recovering fairly well. His echo in the hospital was clear - we go in tomorrow for our next echo - praying that nothing has changed!! He has a problem that I have not run across yet and I wondered if anyone else has dealt with the same thing. He was born with severe hydronephrosis in one kidney and bilateral UPJ stenosis. Hospitalized at two weeks old for a UTI. One kidney really doesn't function but the other is healthy and is compensating well. His BUN/creatinine levels have always been good - elevated a little with KD but still in normal range. It seems that KD rarely causes kidney complications, but because only has one good kidney, I'm worried. Does anyone have any experience with long-term KD effects on kidneys? Thanks!!
